Computed Tomography Technology
Upon completion of the CT certificate program, the graduate will:
- understand the basic physics and equipment used in CT
- be able to identify normal anatomy
- know the proper positioning and scanning protocols for all CT procedures required by the ARRT
- be able to successfully evaluate image quality and know how and when to adjust the imaging parameters
- be able to apply the principles of radiation protection for the patient, self, and others
- be able to perform quality assurance testing
- be able recognize emergency patient conditions and initiate life-saving first aid and basic life support
- be able to utilize critical thinking skills to gather, comprehend, analyze, and synthesize information in order to provide superior patient care
- demonstrate awareness and respect for diversity and display professional, ethical behavior consistent with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Code of Ethics
