ECC - Identifying Parts of a Citation: Identifying Types of Sources

Intro

This page will help users to distinguish among the major kinds of sources that  will be encountered in the library's research resources. It provides tips on what to look for to determine whether an item is a book, book chapter, or journal article.

Once a researcher decides what type of source is being used,  he or she will know what information is needed in order to cite it properly in a paper or presentation.
